I’ve used “class room in a book” for lots of different softwares that I’ve learned over the years. I’ve always enjoyed using the format to learn a software. I only wish they would come up with “class 2”, “class 3”, etc. It’s a good book and worth it’s cost for sure! Only be sure that you need “basic” understanding of whatever course you are buying because that’s what these books deliver.
This is for Adobe CS3, the older programming which still has a useful link function the more modern CS programs don’t have. The value for me with this book is that it provides more detailed information about the specific CS3 function, and it is possibly of use with other CS programs that are updates of the CS3.
It allows a user to work with their program and learn more with the book. The trouble with this book is it’s only for one aspect of the CS3 which means other information is needed for learning and using the programs better, there are the other Adobe CS manuals also.
The value for users is better with self teaching than just using the programs freehand. While that’s still an option, often the details and alternatives which are shared in the manuals can assist in progressing uses faster. This book is great. I can’t see any other way to learn Indesign without it. It helps you work thorough documents using Indesign and by the end of the book you can use the program with little problem.

I bought this for a design class. This book is so effective, she gave us the book and just made sure we were learning with quizes. The tutorials are very easy to follow–instructions are thorough. I was expecting more of a reference guide, though. This book contains a series of exercises in which you create mock documents.
It is helpful, but not if you are looking for a straight reference guide. I purchased the software many years ago and did not use too often. I wanted to use software again, so this was an excellent way to brush up on my skills.

To fix the problem with numbers, you need to go into the paragraph style settings. HEY Catherine, everything worked but i wasnt able to change the keyboard shortcuts back, so i tried what you said about toggling through all the options. My GateKeeper preferences are set to allow all apps, whether or not they are sanctioned by apple. Naturally my InDesign is still in Greek.

Hey david, thanks a bunch, this is a life saving feature for those of us working out of our home countries. Do anyone have any solutions for this? I finally get it working! It said first its damaged but when i changed mac privacy settings it worked perfectly.
Thank you! Quit InDesign first. Use a plist editor utility there are free ones you can find on the web, like Pref Setter to open that plist file 4. Make sure you have a backup.
